This is my kind of book, I loved it. Jenny encourages creative little drawings of your life in your journal because pictures are so much more fun than a bunch of boring words.
This short book is so simple yet so profound. It's not about being an artist or adapting a Pollyanna attitude, but it's focused on noticing all the good in life and putting those good feelings on paper so they're not forgotten or lost. As Moraitis mentions, it's so easy to remember the negative things, but the positive moments often slip away without our ever realizing them. This ought not to be. Through her insightful book, the author gives us an idea about how to hold on to those good memories, those moments that make life worth living. This positive focus will lead to less stress, more gratitude and a higher quality of life. I consider myself creative in many aspects, but when it comes to drawing, well, let's just say my dog could probably do a better job. But, I'm not going to let that stop me from starting my own happy journal. It doesn't matter what the drawings look like as long as they remind me of the things that make me happy and keep me focused on a heart of gratitude. This guide has opened a new world of possibility to me at a time when I needed it the most. I can't wait to get started!
I really love this book. It's a short, well thought out guide on how to start noticing the little things. And how to record those things that make us happy and grateful each day. I've already done something sort of similar, I kept a jar of things that made me happy one year - just little moments. This book reminded me how much I enjoyed focusing on those positive moments, especially because I have frequent bouts of major depression and it's hard to see the happy things sometimes.
